Jean Flann holding the Flann Family Pusscat on the patio behind 19 Bounds Oak Way, Southborough, Tunbridge Wells Kent, sometime in the 1980s. Jeanne has her pinny on, and was undoubtedly interrupted for this picture when she was putting her culinary skills to work making something delicious for her family.
America was Jeanne’s new home. First in Montana where her son Christopher lives, and next in Utah where he son Nicholas lives. She now enjoys a quiet life in her golden years made the longer she thinks with the joys of life in her new home in the United States and the wonderful medical care she has received.
It is in this retirement, assisted by her family and friends, she had the opportunity to create this memoir of her time in the Women’s Land Army as one of the first Land Girls to join up.
Jeanne would like to note that this is a personal memoir. It is for her family, friends and those interested in social history. The copyright is hers.
